Something affording pleasure, diversion, or amusement: The daily crossword puzzle is an entertainment for many. A type of entertainment may be a performance such as a play or ballet, or an activity such as a sport or a game. Entertainment often reflects culture and society, and can evolve from ancient practices like stage magic to newer media such as films or video games.
