What Is Entertaiment?

Entertaiment is a broad term encompassing many different activities that are meant to amuse, delight, or otherwise entertain an individual. Some common forms of entertainment include movies and television, music, sports, games, and art.

From Middle French ententement; see entertain.

The etymology of the word entertainment is intriguing, with the roots being both Latin and Indo-European: inter means “inside”; tenere or tenor meaning to hold or keep up.

Generally speaking, an individual who seeks entertainment must be careful not to become involved with lewd or immoral actions and/or materials. These individuals may find themselves in trouble with the law.
